in may, i had the pleasure of shooting kavita and manas’ wedding. the festivities kicked off mid-week with kavita’s mehendi which took place at her parent’s house. later that evening, they had their sangeet celebration at ashyana banquets in downer’s grove, il. their wedding and reception took place on saturday, may 9th, at the schaumburg renaissance hotel and convention center. and the weekend ended with a lunch at manas’ parent’s house welcoming the new bride. everything was done beautifully, and impressive was the fact that not only did kavita put together the table centerpieces for the sangeet and reception, but she also designed their wedding outfits. using her passion for fashion design, she designed manas’ wedding outfit and, using her mother’s wedding sari, crafted a wonderfully unique wedding dress for herself.
i also had the pleasure of meeting, and working with, the very talented dustin francis who shot this wedding with me…thanks dustin! i had a blast photographing this wedding and spending time with kavita, manas, and their families, who treated my wife, daughter, and i as their own and made sure we had plenty of home cooked meals…yum!
